Orenda Winter Concert 2010

This year students heard a wonderful concert given by the Karigon and Orenda Orchestra and the Orenda Chorus.  The students also heard a very clever version of Good Principal Smith to the tune of Good King Wenceslas.  Listen to the words by watching the video.

Third Grade learns about THE NUTCRACKER!

This year Mrs. Lemieur's and Mrs. Moore's classes have been studying "The Nutcracker" in music class. They have read an adaptation of the story, listened and analyzed the form of "The March," learned the melody from "The March" on their recorders and watched portions of the ballet. Next week they will be acting out the story during their class time. If you and your family have time to take in a performance this holiday season, we highly recommend all of our local ballet company performances!

Orenda Votes!

Every year the League of Women Voters of Saratoga County wants 5th grade students to learn about the importance of voting.  This year 5th grade students were encouraged to visit poling stations with their families and learn about the importance of having an opinion on how their government works.  All students who participated received a certificate and a pin stating they voted.
